Вы в курсе, что cv.org обновился до уровня бета версии. Так вот в этой бета есть пара интересных ссылок на интервью с Паттоном. В одном он раскрывает старые легенды. Во втором - своё отношение к наркотикам. На английском. Занятно.

There is an article on Mike Patton in today's issue of bi-weekly
Finnish rock mag Rumba. Since most of you are surprisingly not fluent
in Finnish the highlights in brief are:

-FantТmas. Has 3-4 album ideas for FantТmas. Wants to do one with
Terry Bozzio, one with Dave, one that is totally acoustic, and one
that is totally electronic. Starts working on new FantТmas early next
year.

- Bully. "I got fired!". Cites problems with Rockstar Games (the
company). Still friends with its Vancouver studio.

- Peeping Tom. Will release two albums next year. They are alike,
programmed, groove-based. Has finished around 10 tracks, rest will
follow at the end of this year and early next year.

- Pinion film score. Starts writing the score after returns home from
FantТmas Australia & Japan tour. Music to be completed this fall.

- Tomahawk. No time since busy with other projects.

- Ipecac highlights. Ennio Morricone and Mugison.

- Listening at the moment: Ali Farka Toure, Ennio

- Last game that played: GTA: San Andreas

- Interview date July 7th, 2005

Сейчас по каналу Россия показывали передачю про "Синдром Кашпировского". Так вот там были смонтирована сцена из старых записей, где "больные" зрители двигают руками под музыку Golem II Bionic vapour. Надо сказать, что очень забавно получилось, хоть клип снимай!

А Кашпировский - продвинутый черт ... :) Стоп, так это чё - он еще в 1999 г. продолжал на всех наводить синдром или это телевизионщики наложили трек уже в студии как post-production?

P.S. Хорошо, что Patton , а не например Throbbing Gristle ... :)

Не, запись была старая, ещё советская. Вот Ельцин в 1994 году ввёл запрет на гипносеансы по ТВ, так что нашему Касперу стало нечего делать и он свалил в Польшу, а затем к штатникам (там тоже запрет, так что теперь круг пользователей у него заметно упал). Там была классное муз сопровождение вообще. Музредакторы на ТВ, похоже, сейчас даром хлеб не едят. Но mr. Bungle там был очень в тему... просто люди-роботы получились!

Yep, that about sums it up. I’m happy. One of these days I’m going to publish a history of that band and I’ve got the archives to back it up! pack-rat that I am.

Unhip Records has released a 3″ CD and a 5″ vinyl split of a new Fantômas song and a new Melt Banana song.

The amazing split between FANTôMAS and MELT-BANANA is finally ready. Some copies have already ended up on e-bay (copies that were originally sold at the recent Fantômas european shows), but please don’t pay ridiculous prices for it and buy directly from us because there’s no need to worry that the record will sell-out anytime soon (also because it hasn’t been sent to distributors yet). And we haven’t started to sell it mailorder either, mainly because we’ve been (and will be) around the country for festivals so the mailorder will be resumed on Monday September 5th. Sincere apologies to all the people who have ordered the record, please have some more patience and you’ll get it!! Also to those who sent e-mails while I was on vacation, you’ll get your answer asap. We’ll be also accepting paypal payments from now on. The records are all hand-made (this is also why it took us a while to have them all packaged) and comes in 2 formats: the vinyl is a 5 inch while the cd is square-shaped and the diagonal of the square is three inches long.

Needless to say they’re incredibly neat to look at and to be held in your hands, which should be enough of a reason to go out and get it. The split single contains two brand new exclusive songs. Fantômas (who are Mike Patton, King Buzzo, Trevor Dunn and Dave Lombardo for those living under a rock) go crazy on their “Animali In Calore Surriscaldati Con Ipertermia Genitale” (animals in heat overheated with genital hyperthermia), while Japan’s noisecore legends Melt-Banana gave us the wonderful “Cat In Red”. The artwork was drawn by Igort, a friend of ours who also happens to be one of the most talented artists in the world of comics. Это ещё не все новости.
- Новый альбом Massive Attack "Weather Underground" будет содержать 3 трека с участием Майка. Одна из них, по словам Майка, представляет собой "грязную" (видимо, в плане лирики) балладу с аккустической гитарой.
- Паттон пишет саундтреки к двум фильмам (один из них "Pinion") и компьютерной игре "The Darkness".
- Майк планирует поездку в Италию для того, чтобы при помощи струнного оркестра и хора записать альбом кавер-версий итальянских поп-хитов 60-х годов,
- Вместе с Эйвиндом Кангом Паттон работает над классической пьессой для хора.

- Список приглашенных музыкантов на альбоме Peeping Tom (в который войдёт 11 композиций): Kid Koala; Odd Nosdam; Doseone & Jel из хип-хоп коллектива Anticon; Dale Crover из Melvins; Massive Attack; Dan "The Automator" Nakamura; Rahzel; DJ Muggs из Cypress Hill; Amon Tobin; бразильская певица Bebel Gilberto; Brooklyn's Dub Trio; DJ Disk из Invisibl Skratch Piklz; рэппер Kool Keith, джазовая певица Norah Jones, которую Паттон заставил спеть композицию "Sucker" с неприличным текстом.
- Новый альбом Tomahawk будет базироваться на древних индейских мотивах и будет довольно "спокойным и странным".
- Участие Дженнифер Чарльз во втором альбоме Lovage ещё не подтверждено, но переговоры ведутся.
