One of my long term goals after becoming a rich and powerful movie mogul (it's sure to happen, right?) was to hire Mike Patton and/or his band Mr. Bungle to compose the soundtrack for a film I did. A horror film, most likely. Since Mr. Bungle has gone the way of the dinosaur and good Living Colour albums, it looked as if Mr. Patton (soon to be seen onscreen in Firecracker) would be the choice either alone or with one of his 2001 collaborators.

Well, someone beat me to the punch. The makers of the indie film, Pinion. Starring Peter Greene, the film's plot is as follows:

" Lynn is a thirty something Chef who has it all; a great job, an eccentric but loving mother, and very caring friends who watch out for each other. She is a tough city girl that pulls no punches when it comes to her sense of humor, or life in general. Something is missing though. Through a seemingly misdialed phone call, Lynn meets the man of her dreams. A man she has never seen, but only heard his voice. Even when they are physically together, he requires her to wear a blindfold. Their relationship evolves into a Dominant/submissive game of intrigue that she must keep a secret from everyone she knows. With her giving him complete control over her, her vulnerability eventually becomes her demise. "

Sounds like they just told us the ending there...

As for the film, it's all about Mike. He'll be composing the score, which means I'll now have to go to either Ween or Particle to do my film. Good for him, though. He's one of the best and brightest out there and here's hoping they cast a buxom leading lady so we can crack Rack and Pinion jokes for here until doomsday.

уже на всех фестивалях показали, а в продажу всё никак не запустят...

Саундтрак к Пинион у кого-нить есть... На одном из сайтов я видел, что этот фильм должен выйти в 2008.

В каком смысле в продажу?
DVD уже вроде давно есть.

I noticed on IMDB that you are supposedly working on a film called Pinion, if I am pronouncing that correctly. Is that something you are still working on or involved with?

Mike Patton: Well, I started working on it, and then the director lost funding somehow. It sort of turned into a tailspin. To be honest, I think they pulled the plug on it. I don't know. I am not really sure. I have tried to contact the director, and she has dropped off the face. I'm not sure that it's ever going to happen. Unfortunately. The one thing Firecracker taught me is what an incredible process it is to actually get a film made. Not just to write it. I mean to get the financing, shoot it, and then go sell it when you are done making it. My hat goes off to these indie filmmakers. They must have an incredibly thick skin.
